Ben Fordham of 2GB talks about coastal planned retreat

Audio: Pat Aiken of NSW Coastal Alliance speaks with Ben Fordham of 2GB Originally broadcast on Radio 2GB, 10 September 2018

There has been much discussion around planned retreat in Surfside with considerable debate that Council's Coastal Management Plan will impact both socially and financially on 200 residents and their properties. It has been offered from many well informed quarters that once adopted the Strategy will have far reaching consequences across the shire with an immediate impact on the values of properties right along the NSW Coast

Ben Fordham of 2GB reports that the Environment Minister, Gabrielle Upton, is “having another shocker” after being slammed by a judge over her decision to render dozens of homes on the mid-north coast virtually worthless. Pat Aiken of the NSW Coastal Alliance states NSW Minister Gabrielle Upton considered requests to answer questions irrelevant and onerous and burdensome but Justice Shehan thought otherwise.
