Kings Highway Given New Lease On Life At Currowan

A $525,000 package of work to provide safer and smoother journeys for all road users on the Kings Highway is now complete.

Member for Bega Andrew Constance said the NSW Government funded the work to resurface a 1.5 kilometre section of the highway at Currowan and upgrade guard rail at Cabbage Tree Creek Bridge.

“The Kings Highway is one of this region’s biggest and most popular roads, which is why this work was so important to ensure it continues to meet the needs of the community now and in the future,” Mr Constance said.

“This section of the road was rough and reaching the end of its life span and this package of work has improved safety for all road users, especially motorbike riders.

“Work was carried out during the month of May and was a case of short term pain for long term gain and the community is thanked for its patience.”
