Youth Week celebrations in full swing

It’s Youth Week and the shire’s young people are encouraged to get out and celebrate.

This weekend young skateboard, scooter and BMX riders can get down to Narooma and Moruya skate parks for free fun and entertainment. Both days begin with a free skateboarding workshop for beginners, and after lunch a skate, scooter and BMX competition will be held with prizes and live DJ music.

The skate events wrap up a bumper crop of events hosted by Eurobodalla Council for Youth Week, including a successful drive-in movie, beach doof and pop-up youth café.

Council’s Youth and Community Development Coordinator Zoe Morgan said the drive-in was definitely the highlight.

“It was an unreal atmosphere and based on its success we’re considering holding more drive-ins in the future,” she said.
