Nature Coast Marine Group caught up earlier this week with Justin Field, Greens MLC

Nature Coast Marine Group caught up earlier this week with Justin Field, Greens MLC in the NSW Parliament, who was visiting the Batemans Marine Park. The Nature Coast Marine Group recognise that Justin has been very supportive of more effective measures to protect the marine environment and thanked him for bringing these issues to public attention. Nature Coast Marine Group spokesperson Bill Barker did comment though "Unfortunately, decisions about the marine park are not just made on scientific grounds. "If we want to protect the park we have to engage at the political level and this means talking to political leaders across the board. We have written to the government and have requested meetings, so far without a response. We hope also to meet soon with the Labor opposition in State Parliament."

He spoke to me about the importance of protecting the Batemans Bay Marine Park. The Liberal/National Government, along with local MP Andrew Constance, are threatening the future of the Batemans Bay Marine Park. The community will not stand for this and want their marine park protected."
