Breakdown of legal fees sought from Audit Committee

Dear Councillors Mayne and Constable,

I note that you are both on the Audit Committee and, as such, I seek your assistance.

I would be pleased to receive a breakdown of all legal fees paid by council in relation to advice, proceedings taken/pending for and/or against Eurobodalla Shire Council for the past 5 years including the general substance of each case and/or advice undertaken or sought by Council.

I further seek information regarding the outcome of all legal proceedings taken by or against council and the cost to council thereof in either taking these proceedings and/or defending proceedings taken against them and the financial benefit/loss to council as a result of the taking/defence of any legal proceedings.

This could take the form of a question on notice or an actual Motion to be included in the Agenda. I would appreciate it if you not consult with staff in relation to the wording of any QON or NOM but use your own initiatives to determine the appropriate wording.

Kindly advise at your earliest convenience as to what form these questions will take and when these questions will be put onto the Agenda.

For your convenience, here is link to the Terms of Reference for the ARIC: http://www.esc.nsw.gov.au/inside-council/council/governance/audit-committee/audit-committee-terms-of-reference

It is clear that ARIC should be (is obliged to be) familiar with the subject matter of my questions.

Yours sincerely Coral Anderson
