Batemans Bay Stamp Swap Meet June 22nd

The Milton Ulladulla Stamp Club will be supporting a Batemans Bay Stamp Swap Meet at the Anglican Church Hall at 6 Herarde St Batemans Bay on 22nd June 2019.

The club have decided to support a Stamp Swap Meet in the view of making this an annual event. Presently the Club holds an annual Stamp Fair each Easter Sunday in conjunction with the Ulladulla Blessing of the Fleet Festival and Steven Searle, Secretary of the club says "it only seems fair to have an event in Batemans Bay so that our local members can participate in the art of stamp collecting in their community."

"We are going to have collectors present who will be selling their excess material and showing some of their collections.

"As part of a service to the community the collectors present will be on hand to answer any and all questions about stamps, coins and collections. Steve said "One question that is raised regularly is 'I have just inherited a stamp/coin collection where do I go from here?'”

"Many people at some time in their lives inherit a stamp/coin collection from a relative. In many cases the person inheriting the collection has no idea of the value of the collection or what to do with it."

Steve offers: "There are many things you can do with a stamp/coin collection, but the first things you must decide is whether you want to:

l Determine the Value of a Collection

l How to Gain Valuations

l Keep it and take up Stamp or Coin Collecting,

l How to dispose of a Collection

What next? After you have determined the value of the collection, your options for dealing with the collection include: - Start stamp/coin collecting - sell the collection; or - give the collection away.

If you are in this position and would like more information, you could always bring the collection along to the Stamp Swap Meet and talk to the collectors there. If this is not opportune to you, the collection could be bought along to the Milton Ulladulla Stamp Club and members and collectors there could advise you of your options."

The club meet at the Milton Ulladulla Bowing Club at 1PM on the fourth Monday of the month.
