Celeste Haworth in Batehaven as part of River of Art May 26th


Acclaimed Mezzo Soprano Celeste Haworth sings songs and arias of love, loss, intrigue and desire from your favourite opera composers, including Handel, Mozart, Rossini, Verdi, and Bizet. Back in Australia to sing with Opera Australia after three years of performing in Germany, Celeste will be appearing on the South Coast in a once only, intimate concert, accompanied by noted pianist David Martin. 3pm Sunday 26 May at St Bernard’s Catholic Church, Batehaven Adults $35. Celeste Haworth has been heralded as "ravishing to both eye and ear" by the Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung and her "charmingly dark mezzo voice" has "perfect coloratura" raved the Wiesbadener Kurier, whilst Sounds Like Sydney has praised her "assured dramatic storytelling." She has been lauded by critics and public alike for her performances in Europe, Asia and Australia.A regular principal artist with the State Theatre of Wiesbaden, Germany, and with the annual Wien Modern Festival in Vienna, Celeste has also had arias broadcast on ABC Classic FM, recitals Fine Music 102.5 and performed extensively with renowned orchestras including the Singapore Symphony Orchestra, the Early Music Ensemble, the Deutsches Kammer Orchester in connection with the Frankfurter Philharmoniker, Wien Residenz Orchester and the Sydney Symphonietta. David Miller is widely recognized as one of Australia's leading pianists, chamber musicians and vocal accompanists. He is also highly regarded as a mentor for young ensemble pianists and repetiteurs. He has been appointed as a member of the Order of Australia for his service to music.David’s distinguished career has included partnerships with many internationally renowned singers and instrumentalists, and he has been a member of a number of Australian chamber music ensembles. He is a founding member of the acclaimed Grevillea Ensemble and pianist in the innovative Charisma Trio. He also performed with the legendary contemporary music group Flederman and the Huntington Piano Trio, and has toured and recorded regularly for the ABC and 2MBS-FM and also served for several years on the Artistic Review Panel for Musica Viva Australia, touring for them with the original Song Company.
