As ideal conditions continue, hazard reductions will be taking place around our local area. Hazard reductions are controlled burns which hope to reduce the intensity of a bushfire if it were to travel through the area already burnt out area.
Currently there is a hazard reduction burn north of Moruya and a large hazard reduction north of Batemans Bay. The best way you can tell if there is a hazard reduction is to check the “Fires Near Me” smartphone application.
Remember to only call 000 if you see a fire without a fire appliance in attendance.
