Fabulous Fashions Fund Future Fun

It was a case of “standing room only” when a large crowd flocked to the Pre-Loved Fashion Parade held recently at the Catalina Club.

The afternoon was organised by the Batemans Bay Indoor Aquatic Centre Committee (BBIACC) to raise funds towards equipment at the new Indoor Aquatic Centre. President Carolyn Harding welcomed the guests, and introduced the MC for the afternoon, “Gossip Gal”, Dawn Simpson, who provided an amusing commentary to accompany wonderful volunteers Bec, Cheryl, Chris, Ellen, Leslie, Liz, Jayde, Maddi, and Phoebe modelling the beautiful donated garments.

At the break, some lucky door prizes were drawn, and Tanya and Anna entertained the audience with some lovely songs. Fairy lights provided a stunning backdrop for the second half of the parade, as the models paraded fashions covering a wide range of sizes, from casual to formal wear. After some more lucky door prizes, the raffle was drawn, the lucky winners receiving some wonderful prizes donated by local businesses. Carolyn thanked Dawn for her fabulous commentary and presented her with a pack of her favourite wine. She then thanked singers Tanya and Anna, all the models, those who donated the clothes, and all the lucky door and raffle prizes, the BBIACC members, and the attendees for making the afternoon such a success.

Carolyn then invited the guests to rush to the racks of clothes and displays of shoes and accessories to grab some bargains, all selling for only $5.00 each!

Shoppers emerged from the back room with piles of bargains, and all declared that it had been a very pleasant and entertaining afternoon. A total of $2,200 was raised.
