Board Member Opportunity


South Coast Colleges (formerly The Eurobodalla Adult Education Centre) Batemans Bay invite applications to become a member of their Community Education and Training team. The College is looking to appoint additional members to its Board of Management to assist in achieving their strategic direction, while focusing on the delivery of innovative, inclusive, and quality educational opportunities for all people in the region. If you believe that a harmonious and productive society requires enthusiastic participation by all sectors of the community in life-long learning, and would like to be a part of a local organisation that believes in the following core values of: - Learner centred education and training that empowers people with knowledge and skills to realise their visions and goals - Excellence in delivery of professional training & learning experiences - Flexible and Relevant training that suits the needs of the community - Friendly and Accessible – providing learning opportunities for everyone in the community - Community and Collaboration – delivering services through collaborative partnerships with other community organisations - Integrity and Accountability in all aspects of our conduct as a not for profit community service provider, Then they invite you to consider becoming an active member of the College Board, to assist in continuing the great work they have been doing since 1983. As a member of the Board you will be required to engage in meetings 6-8 times a year at the head office in Batemans Bay or by remote access using Skype (so you can potentially attend from anywhere!). Meetings are held on a weekday, in the afternoon and normally last a maximum of 2 hours. On Thursday 18th April 2019 they will be conducting our Annual General Meeting where they will be electing new members to our Board. The timing of meetings and other Board obligations and professional development opportunities for members are set out in their Board calendar. As a Board member you will be eligible for: • Reductions on courses or a voucher to the value of $200.00 • Refund of fuel costs to attend meetings • Remote attendance • Free online governance training modules • Professional development opportunities • Special interest sub-committees If you would like to join the team and assist in making a positive difference in the community through education, please contact the South Coast Colleges CEO Sarah, or a member of the Board for more information.
