Invitation to talk about mental health reform in Batemans Bay Mar 21 and 22

This year, the Mental Health Commission of NSW is undertaking a mid-term review of Living Well: A Strategic Plan for Mental Health in NSW 2014 – 2024, the 10-year plan for mental health reform in NSW. These consultations will inform theiradvice to Government on where the future priorities lie for ongoing improvements in mental health services and supports to improve the lives and outcomes for people with mental health issues.

The voice, experiences and expertise of communities across New South Wales, people with lived experience of mental health issues and caring, of service providers, and people who work in or are interested in mental health and wellbeing are essential to getting this right.

The community are invited to participate in consultations with the Mental Health Commission of NSW to talk about what is working well, where things could be improved, and to tell them what your priorities for change are.

The review includes a program of events across NSW where ten community consultations are being held between March and July 2019.

The Commission welcomes people with a lived experience of mental health issues and caring, families and kinship groups, community members and representatives from primary health networks, local health districts, community-managed organisations, local government and local organisations and other services to attend the consultation.

Following each consultation, a selection of programs and initiatives will be showcased on the Commission website. The Commission will also report back to the community on the main issues it heard in these consultations, via a report on the website.
