Rally for Recovery are delighted to announce the arrival of their new truck for pick-ups and deliveries. Rally for Recovery in Tomakin NSW raises much needed funds for research into childhood cancers in conjunction with The Sydney Children's Hospital Foundation with all proceeds going to Sydney Children’s Hospital Foundation for Research into Childhood Cancer and Blood Disorders. In the last 10 years Rally has raised $1.65 million dollars for the Sydney children’s hospital foundation for cancer research! Working from an old shed in the entry to Tomakin, a group of volunteers (mostly retired locals) have opened every Saturday morning since adding Wednesday mornings as well from 2017 onwards. Rally For Recovery initiated a fund raising campaign last February to raise funds to buy a new truck as their faithful 24 years old vehicle that they use every day for pickup and drop off of donations was on its last legs costing money every week to keep it running! Rally For Recovery raises funds selling donated furniture, bric-a-brac, toys, books, electrical goods, kitchen goods, and their much loved sausage sizzle for weekend crowds with the money raised going directly to the cancer research side of the hospital foundation. The new truck has now arrived. A spokesperson for Rally told the Beagle "This would not have been possible without the amazing dedication and resourcefulness of Andrew and Damon at Autohaus Select Cars Batemans Bay." Andrew of Autohaus Select Cars told the Beagle "It was a pleasure to help Rally out in sourcing a truck with a great low kilometres that was trouble free and suited exactly what they wanted including a hydraulic lifter to help with furniture removal and delivery. We really enjoyed contributing - thanks should also go to Brent at Provisions Signs in Long Beach for contributing the sign work on the truck"
