Bay Theatre Players news


The Bay Theatre Players are already hard at it preparing for a jam-packed year of theatre Bay Theatre Players will be presenting three productions in 2019. 'Dags', by Debra Oswald will be on stage in March/April 2019 'Macbeth', written, of course, by William Shakespeare, will grace the stage in July/August 2019 'The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe', C S Lewis' much-loved story will be on stage in November/December 2019. Latest News: Play reading of Noel Coward’s ‘Nude with Violin’ Last Wednesday saw a very keen turnout for the BTP social play reading evening of Noel Coward’s ‘Nude with Violin’, described as a satire on modern art, criticism, artistic pretension and the value placed on art. The reading, was hosted by BTP stalwart, Matt Burgess, most recently seen in last year’s ‘A Murder is Announced’ and who will be well-remembered for his appearance as Warbucks in BTP’s production of ‘Annie’. Young Adult Workshops....BTP workshops are designed to equip young adults with skills, strategies, practical activities and ideas to support their involvement in future productions. Through the workshops BTP hope participants will build relationships with other theatre lovers and feel comfortable enough to perform in front of an audience with energy and confidence or to step into a supportive and collaborative role in a production team. Dags.... To be directed by Di Minihan, Debra Oswald's 'Dags', will be on stage in the Playhouse in March/April 2019. The cast is: Huon Dufield, Patrick Eberle, Will Hooke, Amarlia Jaksic, Mia Johnstone, Mattea Kelly, Tyler McNamara, Ashleigh Magoffin, Lilly Marion, and Jorja Scott.
