Yacht rescue off Montague Island

Volunteer crews from Marine Rescue Narooma and Bermagui were activated yesterday afternoon (Jan 4th 2019) to rescue a 46 foot yacht with a steering problem in 3 metre seas north west of Montague Island.

On the rescue vessel Narooma 30 were Ross Constable, Alison Phillip, Glen Pikethly, Michael Wahren and Ken Ribbons.

On Bermagui 30: Caron Parfitt, Denise Page, Ray McLeod and Steve Angelo.

Marine radio communications: Lynda Bailey, Judy Barry-Cotter and Brian Gunter.

Land transport: Paul Houseman and Paul Bourke.

The Narooma crew spent the night in Bermagui as the Narooma bar was too rough to cross.
