Aboriginal Fishing Trust Fund – 2018/19 Funding Application Period is Open

Enhancement and protection of Aboriginal cultural fishing, along with supporting fisheries related business opportunities, are the overarching aims of the NSW Government’s Aboriginal Fishing Trust Fund, which is now open for applications.

This is the second year of operations of the fund. Almost half a million dollars of funding was approved for a wide variety of projects in 2017/18.

With a little over $500,000 available this year - Aboriginal people, businesses and community groups are encouraged to apply for grants or loans to support fisheries related aspirations.

The Aboriginal Fishing Trust Fund is now open, with the application period to remain open until 27 February 2019.

For information on eligibility, funding categories, the assessment process and how to apply, visit: www.dpi.nsw.gov.au/fishing/aboriginal-fishing/AFTF

For specific questions relating to Loans from the fund, please contact the NSW Rural Assistance Authority on 1800 678 593.

Those contributors KNOWN to us and verified may continue to use their First Name for ease. The primary need for all of this is due to traceability should a legal action arise.
