Orava Quartet performing at St Bernard’s Church at Batehaven Sun 28th October

The South Coast Music Society concludes its 2018 programme of wonderful concerts with the Orava Quartet, which will be performing at St Bernard’s Church at Batehaven on Sunday 28 October at 3.00 p.m.

The Quartet will bring its vitality to the classics of the string quartet repertoire, in Czech Fantasy, with Haydn’s ‘Lobkowitz’ quartet, dedicated to the Czech Duke of Roudnice, and compatriot composer, and Schulhoff’s five witty pieces for string quartet. In addition, in its finale to mark the centenary of Debussy’s passing, Orava Quartet will present his string quartet in G minor.

Tickets for the concert are available at the door (cash) or online at www.southcoastmusicsociety.com. Adults’ tickets will be $35; members and pensioners $30, school aged children free. For this concert again, as in 2017, adults accompanying school student/s will be admitted free in accordance with the South Coast Music Society’s aim of encouraging the love of fine music in young people.
