Pastel Society’s exhibition from 29 Sept until 7th Oct at the Batemans Bay Surf Lifesaving Club

“Put a spring into your step” and visit the Pastel Society’s exhibition from 29 September until 7th October” at the Batemans Bay Surf Lifesaving Club.

The year continues to flourish for the artists of the Sth Coast Pastel Society, following on from the amazing response and success of our 3rd National Open Pastel Exhibition in April, our current committee has been kept busy in scheduling ongoing activities which includes the continuation of our very successful beginners workshop programmes which were held in May June and August with to thanks to Warren Jones, Jim Chaffey and more recently Lyn Woolridge with her Seascape class which was packed to capacity, keen participants are continuing to learn the intricacies of pastel painting with advance bookings made for the next class. If you wish to register the next class is with Eric Strachan.

Our president Lyn has just returned from attending the inaugural PASA convention in Caloundra Qld, where pastel artists both nationally and internationally got together to demonstrate, teach and show off new products in pastel. Lyn gleaned a wealth of ideas and knowledge so the Society will benefit from these in the future but presently the Society is gearing up for its current exhibition and sale.

The Spring art exhibition and sale of framed and unframed art works will again be held at the Batemans Bay Surf Lifesaving Club, George Bass Drive, Malua Bay from Saturday September 29 opening at 12 noon Saturday September 29th and then daily from 10 am until 4 pm and finishing on Sunday October 7th at 12 noon.

Artists are able to submit 3 framed works of varying subjects and have the choice of submitting at least 1 other work in any other medium. A good selection of unframed works and cards are also available at reasonable prices... Entry by a gold coin donation assists the Surf Club. Viewers will also get the choice of voting for their favourite works.

Members are also advised that our planned monthly meeting for Tuesday 2 October has been cancelled due to this exhibition being open.

New members are always welcome and information about the Society is available from our website www.southcoastpastelsociety.com, like us on facebook or email southcoastpastelsociety1@gmail.com or contact Lyn Woolridge on 0448496998 for any other information.
