Bay Chamber punching above its weight - GoFundMe campaign for public art well underway

The Bay chamber were the 2018 Eurobodalla Business Award for top local Chamber of Commerce. Following on from the announcement last weekend that the Batemans Bay Business and Tourism Chamber took out the 2018 Chambers award at the annual Eurobodalla Business Awards Bay Chamber President David McLaughlin updated listeners to ABC South East radio during an interview with Sophie Longden offering insights into future plans held by the Chamber.


AUDIO: Batemans Bay Business and Tourism Chamber President David McLaughlin speaks with Sophie Longden of ABC South East Radio on September 11th, 2018 After the interview went to air David McLaughlin contacted the Beagle enthusiastic of the GoFundME campaign that was now in place for the acquisition of two crowd pleasing sculptures from the recent Sculpture on Clyde event. The sculptures are Pelicant by Jesse Graham and Portal by John Fitzmaurice

David told The Beagle "We have raised almost $40,000 but need to raise another $34,000. With your help we can see these sculptures permanently placed on the Clyde River foreshore at Batemans Bay.The Sculpture on Clyde event is organised by the Batemans Bay Business and Tourism Chamber. "Our focus is to acquire new sculptures for a significant Sculpture Walk to enhance our wonderful location and tourist destination.We would love to see the Eurobodalla get behind a great community initiative and help make a statement for Batemans Bay and the region." "We purchased and installed BOUYANSEA just 12 months ago and already it is an online hit - tourists stop all day, every day to take pictures - its great for the community we take pride in, and great for tourism.This is just the start of what can be created if the community gets behind this initiative." "Your Donation will help shape our community and can rouse the senses for years to come....All Donations large and small are appreciated !"
