Mayor's Message: Shining a light on our businesses

Entries are open for the annual Eurobodalla Business Awards which allow our Shire to shine a bright light on some of the outstanding businesses and business people in our towns and villages.

Today I’m asking you to help a business that you believe deserves to be recognised for their excellence by encouraging them to enter the Eurobodalla Business Awards. Your encouragement might be just what they need to decide to put a submission in!

Winners of our local awards receive plenty of positive media attention and are invited to go on to the Far South Coast Regional Business Awards and from there, some may represent the region at the state level Business owners can find out how to enter and how to prepare an award winning submission at information sessions being held this week and next in Batemans Bay, Mogo, Moruya, Narooma and Tilba, and you can find out details of these sessions on the ‘What’s On’ calendar on Council’s website.

Businesses can submit one or more entries in the categories of outstanding young employee, outstanding young entrepreneur, outstanding business leader, start-up superstar, four categories of excellence in small business, excellence in business and local Chamber of Commerce.

You can also find out more about the awards and the winners from 2017 and 2016 at www.eurobodallabusinessawards.com.au .

Last year’s winners across the various categories showcased an exceptional standard of business excellence and as they deserve to be mentioned again, they were: Torchlight Media, Onelife Gym, The Batemans Bay Soldiers Club, Skydive Oz, Moruya Waterfront Hotel Motel, Southlands Fruit and Vegetables, South Tribe, Badgelink, South Coast Electrical Solutions Pty Ltd, Surety Property, Katungul Aboriginal Corporation Community and Medical Service, Narooma Chamber of Commerce and Tourism Inc, Perry Street Cinemas, Juela Mogo, and Tilba Lake Camp.
