Your Tackle World Moruya Fishing report of May 25th

Your up to date Tackle World Moruya Fishing report of May 25th, 2018 Moruya River

Flathead are being caught around the Yarragee area lately, soft plastics like Gulp nemesis and Squidgie fish have both worked well. Estuary Perch have also been caught in the same area using both soft plastics and hard bodied lures.

Quarry wharf has fished well for bream in the deep hole using metal vibes and baits like prawn and tuna fillet. Tailor and the odd trevally are also hanging around.

The rock wall down stream of Preddy’s wharf is also producing some very nice bream using Cranka crabs and fresh fish fillets.

Tuross River

Plenty of undersized flathead are being caught in the Tuross system as of late. Try targeting some shallow sand flats, if lucky enough you might find a big one soaking up the sun in the shallows.

Mulloway have been on the bite down the front. Soft plastics like Zman Streakz curly tailz have been catching a few and live baits also.

Perch and bream have been pulled from the highway bridge pylons using deep diving hard bodied lures like Atomic 38 cranks. Grubtail soft plastics have also been working well. John and Graham had a good session this morning (Friday) catching and releasing flathead, perch and trevally in the deep water in front of the boatshed using FG blades. Please remember it is now closed season on perch and bass, however catch and release is allowed.

Rocks and Beaches

The beaches are fishing well for salmon and large bream. Windsock, Tuross and Bingi beach have all been producing some nice fish.

Off the rocks the drummer and groper are pretty strong with reports of good sized fish landed off some of the southern rock ledges using cunji and crabs.

Squid are still on the bite out at South Broulee and plenty of lobsters are coming in up and down the coast.

Offshore

The snapper fishing has been pretty strong both in close around Pedro's using soft plastics and also on the reefs using Lunds squid and Instinct performance rigs.

Just off Windsock and Tuross beach in roughly 30 metres should see you you boat a nice feed of flathead - bottom bouncing baits like pillies and squid is working well.

Tight Lines my Friends and remember “every day’s a good day for fishing … “
