The June 2018 issue of 'Recollections', the South Coast's free history magazine OUT NOW for Beagle Weekender Readers.

The June issue of Recollections is attached 'as a bonus for our readers' to this week’s Weekender.

The June 2018 issue of 'Recollections', the South Coast's free history magazine, will be officially launched next week. The Recollections editor has allowed us to avail an advance copy for you, one of our valued readers of 'The Beagle'.

This issue of 'Recollections' will be officially launched at a morning tea at the Tura Marrang Library at 10.30am on Wednesday 30th May. Two special guests will be 'talking history' at this function : Jim Snow who was the Member for Eden-Monaro from 1983 to 1996 and was Chair of the Labor Caucus during the Keating years from 1993 to 1996. He has recently written a fascinating book “Keating and his Party Room.” He will certainly have some fascinating stories to tell; :and Peter Ubrihien, a retired farmer from the Bega area whose forebears arrived from Germany in the 1850s and is, therefore, a member of one of the longest-established families in the area, will also be sharing some intriguing insights into the area's past.

This function is FREE, but to assist with catering arrangements (free morning tea is supplied) the Library asks that you phone them in advance on 6499 2340 should you plan to attend. Previous issues of 'Recollections' are accessible at bit.ly/RecollectionsX where X is the issue number (1 to 8 are available as such and issue 3 which is 3- (bit.ly/Recollections3- ) ; please note that this website is case sensitive).

NOTE: Comments were TRIALED - in the end it failed as humans will be humans and it turned into a pile of merde; only contributed to by just a handful who did little to add to the conversation of the issue at hand. Anyone who would like to contribute an opinion are encouraged to send in a Letter to the Editor where it might be considered for publication
