Endangered chicks hatch.

The big pay off for shorebird volunteers is when endangered Pied Oystercatcher eggs successfully hatch. This occurred at the Marina site in Batemans Bay on Saturday Sept 30th. If these chicks survive they will be flying in six weeks time. Pied Oystercatchers are listed as endangered here in NSW. There are approximately 250 individual Pied Oystercatchers remaining in NSW.
