Celebrate National Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Children’s Day

Families with children under six years are invited to celebrate National Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Children’s Day in Moruya on Friday 4 August.

The day is an opportunity for all Australians to show their support for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children, as well as learn about the crucial impact that culture, family and community play in children’s lives.

Council’s children’s services is hosting a free family-friendly event featuring a range of activities including games, an obstacle course, visits from local police and fire fighters, craft, dancing and storytime.

There will be free food and drink including a barbecue, johnny cakes and apple slinkies and tea and coffee. Each child will also receive a Children's Day bag on their way home.

The event will be held at the Moruya Showground, Albert Street Moruya, from 10am to 12pm on Friday 4 August.

Bookings are appreciated for catering purposes to Council’s Child Care Supervisor Natalie Maxted on 02 4474 1338. Media Release
