Weekend Results for 5-7 May 2017 Group 16 Rugby League Moruya again lost a home game it should have won comfortably when a late Merimbula try gave the Doggies a 24-22 win. The Sharks scored 5 tries to 4, but converted only one of them. Next Sunday they meet Batemans Bay away. The Sharks won the Reserve Grade and Ladies League Tag on forfeited from Merimbula while they had to themselves forfeit the Under 18s. In other first grade games, Cooma remain the only undefeated team after edging out Bombala 26-22, Narooma crushed Batemans Bay 66-10 and Bega outlasted Eden 40-36.

In Reserve Grade, Candelo/Bemboka beat Batemans Bay 30-6, Cooma 28-22 over Bombala and Bega 42-10 over Bermagui/Cobargo Under 18s saw Batemans Bay successful 34-24 over Narooma and Bega 32-10 over Eden League Tag Batemans Bay 16-12 over Candelo/Bemboka, Bombala defeated Cooma 18-12 and Bega thrashed Eden 38-4. Bay Tigers roundup: Great day for the girls with a win to the ladies league tag 16:14 at Bemboka Bay Tigers Reserve grade put up a spirited performance with a heavily depleted side at Bemboka only trailing 16:6 with 10 mins to go, but with a lack of interchange options the boys ran out of steam which resulted in a 30:6 loss. Great effort by everyone that travelled to Bemboka - the boys will regroup ready for Moruya next week.The inaugural women's tackle game for the Bay Tigers at home on Makay Park against Berkley finished with a fantastic win to the home side 20:16


AFL SCAFL Round 3 Narooma continued its unbeaten run stunning Tathra 17.17.119 to 13.10.88. Bermagui were made to work hard to overcome Merimbula 10.11.71 to 7.14.56. Pambula had a day out walloping an undermanned Eden team 36.6.222 to 4.2.26 Great effort by the Broulee Moruya Australian Football Club DG at their first home game. Whilst they went down by 70pts to Narooma there was a big improvement over the previous week with some terrific skills on display and impressive linkages of play out of the backline. Welcome to new players Brendan, Adam, Nik and Kaine - great to see them on board.Jeff, Shannon, Lambey and Brendan were strong across the middle along with Jules who has lost little of his first grade flair - brilliant!

In ACT AFL, Batemans Bay Seahawks travelled over the mountain to face divisional powerhouse ANU.They fought hard but were ultimately out enthused by the Students, going down 11.8.74 to 7.7.49. The Reserve Grade were again weakened by no-shows and were humbled 21.19.145 to 0.2.2 in an embarrassment to the club. Well done those who travelled and battled hard though. Eurobodalla Soccer All Aged Men Bodalla and Broulee continued on their undefeated runs last Friday, Bodalla beating the Moruya Swans 3-2 and Broulee beating the Moruya Blues 2-.0. Their showdown in a couple of weeks should be a beauty. In Union: Batemans Bay Boars went down to Crookwell Dogs 32-5 at Hanging Rock.
