NSW SES Batemans Bay Unit prepare for Bay Challenge

Some of the NSW SES Batemans Bay Unit members were out on the Clyde River today checking conditions and the course for the Batemans Bay Paddle Challenge this Saturday. Members from across NSW SES Illawarra South Coast Region will be providing communications as well as manning checkpoints along the length of the course.

A week or so ago you might have seen a large gathering of Emergency Services at Moruya Airport this morning!

For two hours NSW SES Batemans Bay Unit undertook exercises to familiarise various agencies including Far South Coast LAC - NSW Police Force, NSW Ambulance, NSW Rural Fire Service, Station 384 Moruya - FRNSW, Station 217 Batemans Bay, Eurobodalla Shire Council and NSW SES Moruya Unit.

The Unit discussed various topics including access, airport hazards, and how to best utilise the facilities in the unlikely event of an incident.

NOTE: Comments were TRIALED - in the end it failed as humans will be humans and it turned into a pile of merde; only contributed to by just a handful who did little to add to the conversation of the issue at hand.
