Tuross Head water supply interruption

Tuross Head’s water supply will be interrupted for five hours from 11pm on Wednesday 29 March while water and sewer crews carry out maintenance.

Water to all households and businesses will be off while a new isolating valve is installed at the town reservoir. This will allow Council to shut off the main water supply to the reservoir when required, but allow its reserves to continue servicing the community.

A motorised valve that helps feed water to the reservoir has been malfunctioning, requiring crews to manually control the water level within the reservoir from a valve on the highway.

Installation of the isolating valve will allow replacement of the faulty valve without any further water interruption to residents.

The work has been planned at night to minimise disruption to the Tuross Head community. Council is suggesting that people who need water between 11pm and 4am prepare by pre-filling kettles, bottles, or sinks.

The water will be back on by 4am. Media Release
