It was my privilege to host the 2017 Area 29 Club Leadership Training & Speech Contest on 26 Feb. Geographically Area 29 covers NSW South Coast from Eurobodalla to Victoria. We had a room full of motivated people at the gorgeous Eurobodalla Botanic Gardens all keen to build their leadership skills.
The training morning was a resounding success with each club well represented. Many thanks to Alan and Christina for coming down from Canberra to assist the local trainers in the delivery of the mornings comprehensive program.
The afternoon speech challenge comprised 2 separate events being the International Speech contest and an Evaluation contest. The best evaluation on the day was provided by Mark Curtis representing Moruya Toastmasters and the best International Speech on the day was delivered by Rosemary Patyus representing Batemans Bay Toastmasters. Both winners will represent Area 29 at the Monaro Division contest to be held on April 1. We wish both contestants the ever best of luck at the Monaro contest at Gungahlin Lakes.
Thank you to all the attendees and contestants, on the day everyone learned something and everyone improved their skill level and confidence in presenting.
