Changed traffic conditions on Princes Highway at Batemans Bay

Motorists are advised of changed traffic conditions on the Princes Highway at Batemans Bay this week for testing work on Batemans Bay Bridge.

To ensure the ongoing reliability of the bridge asset, operational tests will be carried out on the bridge lift system, which will involve opening and closing the bridge a number of times.

To minimise the impact to motorists, work will be carried out for one night between 10pm and 4am on Wednesday 8 March, weather permitting.

There will be some impact to traffic while the tests are carried out, with each test expected to take between five and 20 minutes.

Tests will be carried out a minimum of 30 minutes apart to allow traffic to pass between tests.

Motorists should allow up to an additional 20 minutes travel time.

Further inspections will be carried out between 7am and 5pm for three days from Tuesday 7 to Thursday 9 March on the bridge’s mechanical and structural components.

There will be no impact to traffic during these inspections.

Roads and Maritime thanks the community for its patience as work is carried out.
