The annual Senior Citizens Luncheon at the Greek Hellenic Cultural Centre, Batemans Bay was held today with over 100 senior citizens enjoying a truely Greek feast including traditional oven baked meats and fantastic Greek deserts. The warmth of Grecian hospitality was extended to all by the members of the Greek community and once again, the wonderful generosity of this community shone with their $1000 donation to local emergency services being $500 to Batemans Bay Marine Rescue and $500 to the Westpac helicopter. In December 2016 the Greek Community of Batemans Bay were one of nineteen of Eurobodalla’s community organisations to be awarded grants under Council’s annual healthy communities and seniors week grants for activities that will improve the health and wellbeing of local people. The Greek community grant was awarded for a luncheon and music for all nationalities and that is certainly what they delivered today.
