Destination Weddings in the Eurobodalla

With the sea, sand and some stunningly beautiful lakes at its doorstep, it's no surprise that the Eurobodalla is gaining popularity as a top choice wedding destination.

Aussies have a great affinity with the water and a beachfront, barefoot casual affair with the sound of rolling waves may be the the answer to your dreams. This style of wedding can be as laid back, simple or as formal as you like, still retaining the chic wedding feel. The thought of cocktails and canapes served right on the beach is a rather enticing prospect.

Alternatively, the Eurobodalla provides the perfect backdrop for a woodland, boho, rolling hills style wedding where the local community hall (with air con please!!) may provide a perfectly suitable venue for your reception. I recently provided a cake for a wedding held at Kyla Hall in Tuross which was decked out retro style with fingerfood catering to match. The ceremony was held at Plantation Point in the Memorial Gardens under the canopy of the majestic Norfolk pines. The theme for the wedding was blue and the aquamarine heaving ocean provided a show that didn't disappoint.

As Eurobodalla locals know, we are spoilt for choice when it comes to beautiful coastal scenery. The range of outdoor breathtakingly beautiful wedding backdrop locations are endless. Your problem will be only choosing one! The outdoor locations are often available for a small hire fee through local community groups or councils.

One such location is the recently completed boardwalk viewing platform at the Tuross Head river mouth. It provides the perfect backdrop for a bride and groom to exchange vows and space for guests to gather around. It's an appropriate and symbolic location as it's where the waters of the Pacific Ocean and the Tuross Lake meet and dance their way to a happy, watery marriage.

You don't need to spend thousands of dollars bringing your wedding party to a Pacific Island or Asian resort, we have it all here and more! including some great caterers, celebrants, wedding planners and cake designers. They are all willing to work with you and to your budget.

There are loads of amazing venues, and an excellent hard copy publication is the for information is the Weddings on the South Coast Magazine. Copies are available from Wedding suppliers and Redbox Pantry, 93b Trafalgar Road, Tuross Head or call Deb on 0448099564.
