BBay has a day of traffic queues

Live Traffic spent the afternoon advising motorists of Heavy Holiday Traffic on the Princes Hwy approaching Batemans Bay with queues of 8km southbound. Queues all the way back to Nelligen were taking nearly an hour to arrive at the Batemans Bay roundabout. And this on a Tuesday. Last year Council advised that the queues were a combination of planets aligning with Saturdays being change-over days and also primary shopping days and weekend traveling days A hand held movie that appeared viral on social media clearly showed the extent of the traffic queue on the Kings Highway that went back towards Nelligen and reports received advised that the queues went beyond Nelligen, further to the west. Many in that queue were wondering if the Batemans Bay bridge had been opened and had become stuck as has happened before on two occasions previously. For most caught up in the traffic queues there was little they could do to be kept informed as both highway corridors are black holes for mobile, let alone data.
