Ute and open-tray vehicle drivers can get their free feed and a coffee at Surfbeach Café (at the surf club) between 7am and 8am, and it’s all in the name of reducing roadside litter. Hosted by Eurobodalla Shire Council with funding from the NSW Environment Protection Authority, the free breakfast is an opportunity to talk to people who regularly transport items for disposal - particularly building waste - about the importance of properly securing loads. There’ll be free trailer covers on offer, too.Litter surveys reveal that common items found along targeted Eurobodalla roadsides were lightweight trade and building waste, such as polystyrene, plastic, foam and Gyprock. This litter is often unintentional and is wind-blown from poorly-secured ute, trailer and truck loads. Meanwhile, Council and NSW Roads and Maritime Services staff will conduct clean-ups along target roads during the campaign and Council rangers will target littering from vehicles.Council encourages the community to report littering from vehicles by using the EPA’s reporting portal, available online and on mobile devices www.epa.nsw.gov.au/litter/from-vehicle.htm
