The New South Wales Government has announced an inquiry into the bushfire disaster.
The terms of reference will include the role played by climate change and hazard reduction burns in the crisis.
Nearby to Batemans Bay is the equally lovely Malua Bay. It was there one month ago that State Transport Minister Andrew Constance took shelter on the beach, along with his family and more than 1,000 others, hemmed in by a 'ring of fire', before returning to defend his home against the encroaching flames.
Mr Constance has suspended his ministerial duties to be with his family and community as they begin the long rebuilding journey. He speaks with RN Breakfast.
