ANIMAL BAITING - BATEHAVEN

Batemans Bay police are appealing to our community to anyone who has information about pieces of baited fish and meat pieces in the Batehaven area, specifically Edward Rd and Joseph St.

Sadly, it appears dogs and cats have been deliberately baited using pilchards and salami with snail bait pellets pushed into them. The meat pieces have been left on random nature strips and in front yards of houses along Joseph St and Edward Rd from the hours of about 10pm last night (Sunday 18/10/2020). More pieces of poisoned meat has been located late this afternoon, with the latest fur-baby victim being a dog around 3pm. At this time, one dog is recovering and back home with his family, two cats have been found deceased, with a further two cats still missing and one dog remains at the vet undergoing intensive treatment.

Advice from Casey's Beach Vet is if your animal shows signs of frothing at the mouth, tremors or seizures and collapse, this could be life-threatening for them and you should call 0407738722.

Anyone with information is urged to call Batemans Bay police on 4472 0099 or Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000 and quote E76003404
