Vale: Exit Stage Left - Linda Heald

It is with much sadness that we share that our dear friend and artistic director of the Moruya Red Door Theatre Company, Linda Heald, has passed away.

Director Linda Heald on the right of the pic - a lover of theatre. Linda exited stage left on Sunday. She had been battling cancer for sometime, yet somehow managed to direct 2 plays during this time. In 2016, on a cold Moruya night, a few of us gathered in the Moruya Red Door with an ambitious idea of kicking off a local theatre company. Little did we know that in that gathering was the Theatre's future artistic director, writer, committee member and musician. Linda went on to direct all 5 plays for the theatre: Babes in the Woods Peter Pan - The Eurobodalla Chapter (written by Linda) All in a Night's Work Magical Moments Radio Show A Comedy of Tenors Her 6th production, Duets, has been cast and rehearsals had begun, though Covid meant we went into recess. Linda had a wonderful gift and ability to gently modify a play to ensure there was room for aspiring actors to tread the boards. Linda was recognised by the Red Door Theatre Company with a Life Membership. Linda was also recognised for her work with a Canberra Arts Theatre Award nomination in 2019 for Best Original Work, "All in a Nights Work." To our dear friend, we are both so sad, yet filled with gratitude for your gifts. As you take your final bow and exit stage left, go with our heart felt appreciation and love. Vale Linda Heald
