Fatal crash near Batemans Bay


A man has died following a two-vehicle crash on the state’s south coast.

About 8.40am (Saturday 8 August 2020), emergency services were called to the Princes Highway near Shannons Road, Benandarah, about 10km north of Batemans Bay, after reports of a truck and car crash.


The driver of the car died at the scene and is yet to be formally identified.

The male driver of the truck and female passenger were taken to Batemans Bay Hospital for treatment and mandatory testing, before being transferred to Canberra Hospital in a serious but stable condition.

Officers from South Coast Police District established a crime scene, which was examined by specialist police from the Crash Investigation Unit.
