Two years after: 3000 signature for immediate improvement in Health services ignored

HAPPY SECOND ANNIVERSARY?

On the 26th October 2018, a petition of 3000 signatures requesting that the NSW Government:

‘Provide immediate improvement to the Accident & Emergency, Critical Care and Perioperative services of the Eurobodalla Shire by funding and upgrading the existing infrastructure and workforce.

Commit to the funding, planning and building of one new regional hospital for the Eurobodalla Shire, located at a site providing equitable accessibility for the people of the Eurobodalla, which will provide medical services equal to those of the Regional and Base Hospitals within the Southern NSW Local Health District’ was delivered to the office of the Member for Bega.

On the 31st October 2018, the Premier of NSW, the Member for Bega and the Chief Executive of SNSWLHD announced the funding for a single new level 4 regional hospital for the Eurobodalla.

So far there has been no improvement to Accident & Emergency, Critical Care and Perioperative services.

An announcement of the site for a new hospital is expected by the end of 2020. Work needs to start in 2021. The hospital needs to open with level 4 services.

The traditional second anniversary present is cotton.

We need something more substantial than a cotton ball.
