Planning is continuing for a boating pontoon on the Tuross River .
Council have developed a number of proposals with the final draft plan sent to Marine Parks for consideration and a permit to proceed. A meeting was held recently to discuss the issue with Council, Fisheries and Marine Parks.
The project was funded by the Commonwealth Government as a result of an election commitment.
Recreational Fishing Alliance of NSW (RFA) look forward to good news and concurrence from Marine Parks.
Access issue Coopers Island Road

The RFA attended a further meeting on site and a meeting at Council to gain a better understanding of this issue. This follows a letter of concern to Council in August 2019 and a visit from two Fisheries Access Officers who directed the community to Council to resolve the issue. This issue is ongoing, further meetings are planned as it is not just a straightforward matter. The RFA has put forward a number of ideas and funding possibilities to Council with the aim of obtaining access and a win/win for all parties. If access is lost access to Trunketabella Lake is extremely difficult. More news to follow.
