Tuross Head golfer Ron Rogers wins of stableford competition.

Tuross Head Country Club men golfers competed in a stableford competition on Saturday May 22nd with Ron Rogers emerged as the winner with a score of 39 stableford points.

John Eglitis, also scoring 39 points, had to be satisfied with second placing on a countback.

Greg Smith was a close third with 38 points edging out Bruce Brawn with another countback determining the placing.

Colin Houghton, an A grade golfer playing off scratch, scored a very commendable 37 points.

Nearest the pins were won by: Mal Gilbertson, Allen Gannon, Colin Houghton, Bruce Brawn, Ron Rogers and Mike Allen.

Thursday’s medley stableford competition was won by Ian Miller, who has returned from a shoulder injury and scored an excellent 36 stableford points.

Ian McManus, handed in a card of 35 points, for second place.

Jim Wade and Bruce Lidbury both scored 34 points with Michael Coloe’s 33 points, also earning him an award.
