350 Eurobodalla is running a rally calling for stronger climate action. The rally is happening at 11am next Sunday 30 July at Batemans Bay Foreshore Park.
‘As the world suffers yet further record-smashing heatwaves and bushfires we're calling time. Governments have had long enough,’ says Jack Egan of local climate action group 350 Eurobodalla.
‘We're not waiting any longer. Time's Up and we're getting out to tell our local members of local, state and federal governments that we demand proper climate action now.’
‘We'll be calling out new coal and gas approvals, continued logging of our public native forests, threatened marine ecologies and half-hearted implementation of Council's Climate Action Plan. We'll be shouting loud and clear that we want a future for our kids and nature which Eurobodalla treasures,’ says Egan.
Egan urges ‘locals of all political persuasions who are informed and rightly very concerned about the climate chaos we are facing, to come and add their voice to this one hour event.’
‘The protest is about hope as well as anger. In coming together creatively as a community we reaffirm trust in our collective ability to build a better future,’ added Egan.
‘Let's be louder in the ears of our local representatives than the vested interests that are taking us down to climate hell,’ says Egan.
