There might be a long wait to find out who the new Mayor and Councillors are

The General Manager and her staff may well have been premature in their invite to successful candidates to attend the Grand Induction on Christmas Eve given new at hand being that vote counting will continue as postal votes dribble in. Word has it that it might not be until Wednesday Dec 22nd when we learn of the final results given that the postal votes need to be processed including consideration of their preference votes as well. While there might be a small window for the General Manager to begin her induction of the new Councillors before the Christmas break it is understood that most of the candidates have already indicated that they won't be available on Christmas Eve and the General Manager "had best make a new date". The induction process is a laborious one.

Word on the street is that a Council consultant might be at hand to assist in the induction. The following video from Blackadder might offer insights into the process.
