The Quarterdeck Narooma presents: Catfish Voodoo

THIS SATURDAY NIGHT! Sat 5th Oct 2019, 6:30 pm - 10:30 pm

Get some Catfish Voodoo into your long weekend!

Catfish Voodoo “are a hot young blues unit prowling around the blues scene in Melbourne declaring their influences as John Lee Hooker, Muddy Waters, Little Walter..”   * *Geoff Forbes, MBAS  Bluesletter CD review

Consisting of Aaron Gillett (harmonica and bottleneck), Julian Byrne (vocals and acoustic guitar), Ben Gerrard (drums), and Jordan Hyde (bass), Catfish Voodoo keeps their sound deeply rooted in the early 50’s Smokey Chicago-blues scene. Playing a set consisting of their own material and original takes of classic blues songs such as; Mojo workin’, Smokestack lightnin’, and a high energy, crowd pleasing version of the John Lee Hooker classic, Boogie Chillun’.

Playing their barrel-house blues set through many of Melbourne’s premier live music venues such as: the Espy, Revolver, St. Andrews hotel, Cornish Arms, Royal standard hotel, Radcliffes ... we are stoked to have them passing through Narooma for a show at the Quarterdeck!

Catfish Voodoo have a high energy, low-down boogie sound, which is sure to remind one of a Smokey 1950’s Juke-Joint. Staying true to the masters of classic Chicago blues, Catfish Voodoo’s live shows and studio work are sure to delight and impress even the most discerning blues enthusiast.
