The Gallery Mogo presents: Carleta Delac

Creative Arts Batemans Bay (CABBI) is exhibiting at their Gallery in Mogo, paintings, 2D and 3D artworks of their members, featuring Carleta Delac over the holiday period. The CABBI Exhibition will run from the 9 December 2020 until 1 February 2021 with daily opening hours from 10.00am to 4.00pm, excluding holidays at The Gallery 2/52 Sydney Street Mogo. The Gallery Mogo is a CABBI venture, that is open to local and regional visual art practitioners. From Carleta Delac’s studio, the Old Tin Shed in Moruya, she has produced a series of paintings inspired by Haiku poems Carleta says "At present I am exploring Art through Haiku poetry written by a friend. I am using much larger canvasses and enjoying this immensely. I love colour and like to inject an element of fun into my paintings. I still get excited by using new techniques. Japanese Haiku are word picture poems in 3 lines, in this instance the subjects cover black silhouettes, sunflowers, moon glow and a black cockatoo. Carleta covers a number of painting techniques including oils, water colour, acrylic and mixed mediums, often using credit cards to apply the medium. This credit card technique has been used extensively on a series of original prints for commissioned portraits on paper or canvas.
