Viewfinder is a periscopic sculpture reflecting a view of the crashing waves below the cliff on which it is placed. Installed for Sculpture by the Sea Bondi 2019, the work was awarded the Allens People's Choice prize, the Kids' Choice prize and the Artists' Pick award. Viewfinder urges viewers to form a stronger connection with their natural surroundings, acting as an interface between people and site.
The sculpture was installed in two parts. The base was installed first with 3.3 tonnes of concrete ballast followed by the top frame and mirror assembly. The total weight of the sculpture is 5.3 tonnes.
