St Cecilia Youth Music Scholarships now OPEN

Applications are now open for the 2019 St Cecilia Youth Music Scholarships.

Young people aged 8 to18 years, who wish to apply to audition for the 2019 St Cecilia Music Scholarships, can do so by submitting their application before Friday 27 September.

Committee member Marion Roubos-Bennett says: "I was inspired to support the Youth Scholarships when I was 'bowled over' with the performance of a young budding drummer who, a few years back, wowed the audience with his superb percussive playing".

Marion says: "Anyone with a dream of presenting a music performance for an audience, can apply. If you're good at singing, or playing any musical instrument, you are eligible."

Scholarships are offered in both Junior and Senior, Classical and Contemporary categories. Marion also mentioned that the auditions are "quite laid-back, as you perform in front of other young people who are also auditioning".

The total amount of money ― which is awarded at a performance by the successful audition applicants ― is more than $6,000.
