“SPRING ART EXHIBITION” a time for renewal

The “SPRING ART EXHIBITION” a time for renewal exhibition Opens October 1 at 1pm 2020 at the Batemans Bay Surf Lifesaving Club, George Bass Drive, Malua Bay

After so many months of uncertainty, turmoil and angst experienced by our greater community, the South Coast Pastel Society has decided to forge ahead and put on an exhibition during the coming school holiday period. We are inviting all visitors and the community to view our wonderful array of new art works produced by our members at this Spring Art Exhibition. Commencing at 1pm on 1st October the exhibition will run until 7 October with daily opening hours from 2nd October 10am-4pm, entry is by gold coin donation and proceeds assist the Surf Club.

Pastel is one of the oldest art forms, can be expressed in so many ways, buttery, smooth, textured and very painterly, and works by our artists will showcase the multiple applications expressing diversity, subject, style, colour and use. Given that many of our artists also practice in other mediums, this exhibition will also feature works of their choosing and will be presented in framed and unframed works. All works are for sale at affordable prices along with a selections of artists cards.

In line with current Government COVID-19 restrictions and policies, the society will ensure that measures are put into place to practice social distancing by only allowing 15 persons at one time, implementing a sterilisation station, as well as keeping a register of visitors.

Other Society news, we would like to remind members that our Annual General Meeting will be held on 30th September at 10am at the Surf Lifesaving Club and invite them to attend. New members are always welcome. Nominations for 2020/21positions are open.

Our Committee has met new challenges during these unusual times, but offers online painting challenges via our facebook page and updated website.

For further information please contact Lyn Woolridge on 02 44713056 or Eric Strachan 44721070.

At our next general meeting to be held on 14th November, 2020 at 10am at the Surf Club we will have Carmel Cox as our guest presenter, who will give us an amazing insight into how she creates her fantastic work.
