Norma Ford of Tuross Head passed away early last week. Norma and her son Graham were founding members of the Moruya Racing Pigeon Club (now the South East Racing Pigeon Combine Inc.). Together they hold the record for the most race wins in a row, being 6 and the most race wins in a season being 13. Norma was very passionate about pigeon racing and looked forward to race days with high expectations for her and Graham’s birds.

In honour of Norma Ford this weeks race from Sussex Inlet will become an annual event and known as the Norma Ford Memorial Ladies Race. Members can enter any number of hen birds bred in 2020 competing for prize money which has been kindly donated by M & N EXCAVATIONS.

Marty and Natalie who own that business say they really ‘dig’ pigeons and are only to happy to sponsor this important pigeon race.

Thanks for the memories Norma, we will all miss you️
