South Coast Police report

BATEMANS BAY

South Coast Police have charged a 20 year old Batemans Bay male with several charges after being arrested Wednesday afternoon 31 July 2019.

Proactive Crime Team police were patrolling the Catalina area around 3pm and sighted the man walking across a golf course carpark. After being directed to stop, the male fled on foot across the golf course with police chasing on foot. This continued for several hundred metres.

Police were assisted by a golfer with the use of his golf cart to track down the offender, who was eventually apprehended.

The man was taken to Batemans Bay Police Station. He was charged with 2 x warrants, Resist arrest, Dishonestly obtain financial advantage by deception, Be carried in a conveyance (vehicle) without consent and Assault.

He was bail refused to appear at Batemans Bay Local Court on 1 August 2019.
