ABC South East NSW report:
Hundreds of nurses and midwives from the Eurobodalla and Bega Valley gathered at Bega's Littleton Gardens this morning as part of a planned statewide strike.
Two years into the COVID-19 pandemic, nurses and midwives across NSW are calling for pay rises and legislated staff to patient ratios, similar to those in Queensland and Victoria.

Federal Member for Eden Monaro, Kristy McBain said "Today I stood in solidarity with our nurses at Yass Hospital. All across NSW our nurses are striking for the first time in a decade because they are fed up with being told to cope.
"Our nurses have worked so hard during this pandemic, putting themselves and their families at risk to care for our community. They are overworked and exhausted. But this issue existed long before covid - the pandemic has just exacerbated the problem.
"Our community knows how important and valued our nurses are, it's time for the NSW Government to listen to them when they are crying out for more support."
