Photo: Visit Shoalhaven The Batemans Bay Tourist Information Centre and the Narooma Information Centre were closed following advice that Council needed to "Go where the fish are" being social media and that the cost of having the two centres opened took the bulk of the $1 million per year budget Council allocated to tourism (as advised by Clr Pollock Nov 24th at a public meeting in Batemans Bay). Council believes that Tourist Information Centres are no longer required nor serve the purpose of directing visitors to accomodation and activities given everyone has the internet to do their own research.
